NSX-T Load balancer URL redirect from IP to FQDN

hi expert.

I will replace NSX-V to NSX-T.

In NSX-V load balancer, I redirect url using Application rule like this,

------------------------
acl direct_IP hdr(host) <IPAddress>
redirect prefix https://<FQDN> if direct_IP
------------------------
How to redirect url from IP to FQDN in NSX-T Load Balancer ?

Thank you for your advice.

Hello,

Inside NSX when you configure Load Balancer you will define Virtual Servers. Inside that setup you will have option to Request Rewrite where you have options to add rules like the one you're mentioning. Different options are available for matching/action conditions, so you can fulfill your needs. More on that here https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-NSX-T-Data-Center/3.2/administration/GUID-56C0FADB-863C-4881-98A3-...

Also be aware that you have option to go with Avi as solution on these LB needs (and much more - like WAF, GSLB etc), which is complete solution named NSX ALB (Advanced Load Balancer). NSX license gives you right to use Avi also in basic (LB) setup, which later you can expand to scalable Enterprise option.

Dragan

Hi dragance

Thank you for your reply.

I try to set Request Rewrite rule, then not working.

Request Rewrite rule look like rewrite http header from Load balancer to Web Server.
So Client address bar in browser did not chang.

I want to change address bar at client brower.

thx

Can you share application profile which you created and applied to virtual server?

Also, maybe this URL will be helpful for your setup to test:
