NSX-T 3.0 install .vib on ESXi host

Hello,

i want to install  some Transport Nodes. But the preparation via NSX-T fails, although the service user has these permissions:

Add a Compute Manager

I Manually installed the .vib via vCenter Server and connected the prepared Host in NSX-T. This worked fine.

Is there somthing i am missing? I think the preferred way should be to upgrade kernels via NSX-T not via vCenter, or am i wrong?

Greetings Tobi

Better option is to fix NSX-T manger to Transport Node issue ,even though VIBS are manually installed. What was the error you were getting when the preparation failed ? You can check esxupdate.logs on the underlying transport nodes.
