NSX ROBO

Hello
I have a HQ and a Branch Office, for HQ vSphere Enterprise + / NSX Ent, my question is for the branch office with nsx that I need to have? Do I need a vsphere physical host licensed with ROBO + NSX ROBO in the branch?

Hello, in my opinion it would be depend on your requirements.

I think the key is that vSphere ROBO is licensed per 25 VMs and the good thing is that NSX ROBO licensing aligns with this and licensed per VM too.

The NSX ROBO features are similar to NSX Advanced + VPN, exclude distributed routing and L2 VXLAN bridging.

You can just use vSphere Ent+ and NSX Ent or Adv on your branch office but this will be per CPU and if you have lower consolidation ratios at branch office then the ROBO might be more attractive for you.

Your VMware account team might be able to help you choose which one is the best solution for your requirements.

Here are the two whitepapers of vSphere and NSX ROBO

NSX ROBO: https://www.vmware.com/content/dam/digitalmarketing/vmware/en/pdf/products/nsx/vmware-nsx-for-remote...
