In my environment i have automated the back up of my NSX Manager every week once to the FTP server.
So every week once the NSX manager backup is taken & stored in my FTP server.
My question is when the backup is taken will the copy of the backup will remain in the NSX manager also or the backup data is only exported to the FTP server.
The reason for asking this is because, since the backup schedule happens every week, if the backup data is getting stored locally in the NSX Manager its disk utilization will increase & will cause high utilization.
Hi
please check this doc. it will cover all the things

Thanks
I have never discussed this with anyone including VMware people, but I believe it shouldn't store a copy of backup date inside NSX manager.
Simply because it's meaningless.
Also I haven't seen an NSX environment where NSX manager's disk space running out because of its scheduled backup.
Thank you,
Kohei
Is there any official document from VMware which states that it will not store a copy of backup date inside NSX manager
Backing up NSX will not store copy in the nsx db. Where you have defined the location only to that location it will get saved and the NSX Manager will take care of the backup task based on how you have scheduled it.
