NSX IDS/IPS

Hi ,

i just want to know that what is "VMware NSX Firewall with Advanced Threat Prevention (Amsterdam Data Center)or US Data Center) , does IDS/IPS provided by mentioned Data Centers or its on premises . i need clarity .

Hi.

We are running ids in our env. 

The NSX-T managers connect to the cloud for IDS/IPS signatures.

But the engine is running distributed on the ESXi hosts.

Hope this helps.

So in conclution the NSX-T managers need a limited connection to the internett for singnature downloads.
