NSX Human Readable Names

So, we are now waist deep testing NSX and are going nuts with the horrendous names which are displayed.

pastedImage_0.png

Are we missing something? Is there not a better way to display these networks?

Hi Dr.Virt,

By default the name of the logical switch is "vxw-dvs-xx-virtualwire-#-sid-segmentid-NAME"

In the above string (shown in quotes) , the substring NAME represents the "logical switch name" you have given while creating a logical switch.

If you wish to change , for better managebility , Click on the Networking tab in VC which shows the VM Network and the logical switches in Distributed switch.

Right click on any of the virtual wire and click Rename.

Regards,

Ravi
