NSX Edge Cluster

Hello every one.

Cannot find resolve for my infrastructure.

Idea: Want to provide services vCloud Director.

Have BGP and different ISPs connected to Juniper MX104. Have 2 x Cisco Nexus 9372PX. 2 x Chasis C7000 + RackMounts + Directly connected to Nexus 4x10G per host.

Have 3 vCenters and clusters:Management vCloud, Resources -for Tenant VMs, Edge Cluster - newly prepared for NSX.

Idea - is - follow ref architecture - migrate all Internet connectivity to EDGE cluster. But im stacking how to do.

Because for Spine/Leaf - architect i dont have enought devices. Also Not clear how better to do it.

At all clusters -im allready have NSX. I can configure integration NSX with MX104 - to directly VXLAN to NSX.

If somebody -see same type of architect or have an idea how to do it more nicely - please share it with me. L3/L2 - point- destoyed me Smiley HappySmiley HappySmiley Happy.

Thanks !!!!

Hi

I'm not too sure about your questions.

Spine and leaf is not mandatory, NSX can run on traditional 3/2 tier network or spine and leaf.

When you said migrate all internet connectivity, are you referring to migrate the juniper connection to Edge or migrate existing Edges to new Edges?

Are the Nexus 9000 running as layer 2 or layer 3?

If the Edge uplink only going to connect to the Internet, I would use a default route (either static or dynamic) to either Juniper or Nexus so the Edges do not need to learn full routes.

There are almost ~700k routes on the Internet BGP Reports and NSX Edge can only handles 20,000 https://www.vmguru.com/2015/03/vmware-nsx-v-configuration-maximums/
