NSX Controller Number in case of deployment failure

What's the logic that why same number for NSX Controller can't be used if deployment gets failed and then you do redeployment?

The controller number will increment everytime a new controller deployment is attempted. It is only an identifier and not an indication of how many controllers you have. First controller will always get a identifier of controller-1 and this number will not be allocated again by this NSX Manager. Even in case you are trying to deploy a controller and it fails for some reason, the next attempt will deploy a controller with an identifier of controller-2.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. My question is why failed controller number cannot be reused?
