Multiple network cards

Hi,

I'm not pretty sure if my post should be here.

I have a new server Dell R640 with VMare ESXi 6.7.0 and the server have 4 physically network ports.

I have been create a  windows virtual server 2019 standar 64 bits and I see that the server have 1 network card that works in a 1GB.

My question is, Can I add a second network card that maybe works in a bridge mode to get twice speed?

My switch works in a 1GB speed, So I thinked if I add another wired maybe I will get 2 GB to transfer local files.

I'm not an expert in VMware, thanks for you comments.

Hi,

I do not think you need to do a nic teaming in the os.
As long as you have proper nic teaming on the physical nics to the physical switch you should be good to go.

See this post with a simular question
