L2 VPN - Max throughput possible

Hello,

i deployed a L2 VPN NSX based extension to one of our customers.

The connection is a private 10Gbit/s link, latency ~5-10ms (30km).

I did some iperf throughput tests and never got more than 2-2,5 Gbit.

I also tried more sessions, with multiple simultanus test VMs.

But never got over 20-25% of the max possible.

Both EDGE (Server / Client) server are dedicated for L2.

Ressources are avaiable.

Are there any "real world" excperience what i could expect?

Found the below VMware material & it is mentioned that max throughput  is 2Gbps for L2 VPN
