Hi all,
I've managed to install NSX Module and play around with power-cli. I'm looking for a Report to be integrated with vCheck. Do you know any?
Thanks in advance!
Alicoa
There is no "official" vCheck plugin or script extension for NSX. I have done some searching around, and have not found anything that fits that kind of bill. I am checking with the creator of vCheck internally to see if maybe he knows of anything. I'll update when I get a response.
Hi Tim,
Did you have any response from the creator of vCheck?
Thanks!!
Alicia
Alicia,
Yes! I have good news, and bad news. The good news is that they are totally on-board with an NSX extension to the vCheck. Bad news is, the Git repo was JUST created, and work has just begun to come together. It may be a bit, but keep an eye out for it! The creator of vCheck, and the master behind PowerNSX are on board to get things moving. Can you provide any specific things you would want to see on such a script? I'll make sure it goes into the request bin. Thanks for your idea, and the input!
Hi Tim,
It will be a good idea to check some settings like:
Check "startup" config of NSX controllers
Check anti-affinity rules enabled for nsx components
List Logical Switches per Transport Zone
Check Edge /LS / NSX Controllers status and report if there is any problem
Check port groups policy is consistent for every VDS used by NSX
Report IP Pools running out of free IP's
Confirm NTP configuration is ok for NSX components and it's working
Check if password it's close to expire
List Major /Critical/High severity NSX Manager logs
Report Major /Critical Edge Events
Hope it helps!!
Thanks so much
Alicia
