ESG Not learning routes

Hi

So i have  this issue with BGP losing routes  when there is a flap on PE circuit ,the way to restore routes again on my BGP2VRF-ESG  is to bounce BGP ,is there a way that BGP could restore routes without my intervention .

What version of NSX are you using?

What are the timers on the BGP process (both on the PE and the ESG)?

How long is the outage/flap?

How many BGP peerings does the ESG have?

How many routes does the ESG learn (just the default)?

All sounds well within the expected numbers.

I assume only one(1) of the peers flap, while the other peer remains up?

Are you using GRE tunnels anywhere?

Have you checked the logs on the NSX Edge to see what is reported as the failure?

How long do you wait for BGP to re-establish before manually intervening?

Is it iBGP or eBGP?

Is ESG peering with PE router?

This flap in PE circuit, does it have any impact in ESG BGP Neighbor state?

Before manually restoring the routes, have you checked if upstream router(s) are advertising all required routes to ESG?
