Do we need to deploy NSX Container Plugin for vSphere 7 with kubernetes managed Tanzu cluster?

Do we need to deploy NSX Container Plugin for vSphere 7 with kubernetes managed Tanzu cluster?

https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-NSX-T-Data-Center/3.0/ncp-kubernetes/GUID-52A92986-0FDF-43A5-A7BB-...

Currently we have vSphere 7 with kubernetes managed Tanzu cluster deployed.

Basically, NSX-T automatically handled L-4 load balancer.

But we can not find a way to create L-7 load balancer intergrations with NSX-T.

So, does deploy NSX Container Plugin for tanzu cluster is the best practice for vSphere 7 with kubernetes solution?

If you read the documentation you'll see the proper workflow is to create a service of type LoadBalancer, which does create an NSX-T L3 virtual server, then use an external ingress like Contour.

No, you do not deploy the NCP to TKG clusters. Those TKG clusters use Calico for their networking and there's nothing else you deploy into them when they're built by the service in v7wK8s.

Thanks for your support again.

Is there any way to automatically create L-7 loadbalancer in Tanzu cluster which managed by nsx-t.

Take a look at this kb, as it states what you can have in TKG clusters: VMware Knowledge Base
