Deploy 'Guest Introspection' service failed in vSphere web client-> Networking and Security-> Installation-> Sevice Deployments: Couldn't resolve host.

Hi Heroes,

I got an issue when deploying Guest Introspection service with NSX, below is the detailed description, thanks in advance!

[Env]

NSX 6.3.1

vCenter 6.5

ESXi 6.5

That seems like a network issue, but I tried to use nslookup command, it indeed can resolve the host:VCENTER.test.loc, anywhere goes wrong?

Hi, can the NSX and vCenter resolve all the ESXi hosts?

Hi ablesxs,

Bayu's suggestion above is good. Just wanted to add that you should also check the ESXi host's DNS settings. During deployment, ESXi is instructed to download the MUX agent based on DNS name. If it can't resolve it, you'll get a failure like that. You may be able to find more information in the esxupdate.log in /var/log on the host as well.

Regards,

Mike
