DFW in cross vCenter question

Hi. We are in a cross vCenter setup, greenfield. I noticed a couple things in the DFW I have question about.

In the DFW when trying to create a rule that uses "Logical Switch", the dropdown does not show any of our Logical Switches. Is that because they are Universal switches, since we just have 1 Transport Zone for both sites?

Kind of similar to above, when we need to create a new Service or Service Group, should we make this Global or Universal? I was under the impression the DFW doesnt sync in a cross vCenter so a DFW at any of the two sites would only be able to use a Global service created anyway? Thank you for any clarification.

Thanks,,,

Hi jedijeff,

I believe you are correct - in Cross-VC NSX, the universal section of the DFW only supports a few object types, like universal IP sets, universal security groups etc. Universal logical switches are not one of them, unfortunately.

You can find more info in the following document (page 42)
