Cross vCenter NSX-V 6.4.4 migration to NSX-T

I understand that cross vcenter migration is not supported but what is implied in the second paragraph?  Can this be used to work around the limitation in order to get from cross-vcenter NSX-V to federated NSX-T?

Our current 6.4.4 installation is running firewall only.  We have no other NSX components deployed at this time but will deploy the rest once we have migrated to NSX-t

If this is not possible yet, does anyone know when it will be introduced or who I should contact to find out more?

TIA!

Cross vCenter NSX

Yes (starting in NSX-T 3.1.1, but with no secondary NSX Managers)

No (NSX-T 3.1 or earlier)

Starting in NSX-T 3.1.1, migration of a single site NSX for vSphere deployment that contains an NSX Manager in primary mode, no secondary NSX Managers, and with universal objects on the primary site, is supported. Such a single site NSX for vSphere deployment is migrated to a single site NSX-T environment (non-federated) with local objects.

Migration of a true Cross-vCenter NSX for vSphere deployment with a primary NSX Manager and multiple secondary NSX Managers is not supported. However, if either the primary or secondary NSX Manager is set to a standalone or transit mode, the migration is supported.

I'm in the process of planning one of these,  with the current migration coordinator, you'll have to break the cross vc setup.

Future releases should bring in support for cross vc though.
