Hi All,
Just trying to "print Hello World" in my NSX-T environment. Real simple.
I have the NSX-T OVF deployed and up and running (v3.0.2).
I can log into the web interface and have been able to create two "Host Transport Zones". Both esxi hosts are running esxi v7.0.1.
I can see that each host has a new N-VDS created and they have uplinks. However, I don't see any portgroups on the N-VDS.
Not sure what the next step is. I know that I need to create a Segment, but that seems to require creating a tier-0 or tier-1 gateway first.
So any ideas on what to create next? A "Howto" link would also be great.
Hi,
You can create a segment without the use of a T1 or T0
The T1 or T0 is needed if you need routing between the segments.
You can connect segments to a T0 (tier-0). A T0 has the possibility to connect your virtual environment to the outside world. (static, bgp or ospf in the latest nsx-t release)
A T1 can only connect to a T0
So simply said :
outside-world ->T0->T1->segment
outside world -> T0->segment
A good read in what components do:
VMware® NSX-T Reference Design - VMware Technology Network VMTN
And if you just press save? Leaving the T1 on 'none'
