Change of vTEP IP impacts intermittent connectivity issue

NSX VTEP IP has been changed with creation of new Cluster and moved ESXi one by one from old cluster to new cluster with VMotioning VMs as per below steps. But we found significant performance degradation in VMs and intermittent connectivity issue and finally rolled back. Even after rolled back. Even after rolled back to old cluster within old vTEP network there was intermittent connectivity, that resolved to reboot all VMs. 

Please let me know if someone face any situation like this or any steps to avoid intermittent connectivity issue. We need to perform this change again because current vTEP IP pool is full.

Is each VM required to reboot after vmotioning to new ESXi within new vTEP pool? 

• Create  new vCenter Cluster
• Add newly build ESXi in new cluster 
• Prepare new cluster in NSX with new VTEP subnet
• Evacuate existing ESXi by migrating VMs from old cluster to new cluster one by one
• Move existing ESXi from old cluster to new cluster one by one, make sure old nsx VTEP is removed first. 
• Login ESXi and vmkping for VTEP iP for other ESX VTEP IP

To be honest the only connectivity you should see should be potentially a packet or so when you are vMotioning the VMs.

Otherwise I have never seen any other connectivity issue when migrating workload from one NSX-T enabled cluster to another.

Can you provide more details on how the environment is configured and what other troubleshooting you did (if any)?

Thanks for reply. It is actually NSX-V 6.4.6 environment. Created new cluster and create new vTEP IP Pool and configured VXLAN in Host Preparation and vMotioned around 200 VMs from old cluster to new cluster by releasing ESXi from old Cluster to Datacenter and then from added from datacenter to new Cluster.

And then most of the VMs started complain about the intermittent connectivity issue and performance degradation and did rolled back to old cluster but still faced intermittent connectivity issue and performance degradation. Most of the issue has been resolved by rebooting the VMs after bringing back to old cluster.

I would remove hosts from NSX clusters all together before adding to a new NSX host cluster. I would remove the host from maintenance mode whilst out of NSX cluster and then re-enter maintenance mode before moving to new NSX cluster. Hope this helps.
