Add 3rd party solution with only NSX Micro-segmentation on vDS

Hi,

we have deployed NSX, only as a micro-segmentation solution. We have deployed only the NSX Manager, but not the NSX controllers, neither DLRs, neither logical switches neither ESGs. We apply micro-segmentation on our vDS.

Now we want to go a step further and add a 3rd Party solution (Palo Alto, Trend Micro, Symantec, Intel Security, etc...) and we would like to know if we are going to be able to do it without adding any additional NSX component (except Guest Introspective) or we are going to have to use logical switches?

Yes, this is possible without the use of logical switches. You are going to use the Endpoint Security features of NSX which can be used on VLAN-backed portgroups and Logical Switches.
