After deployed VIO OVA, and the vApp powered on, the VIO UI plugin may not show up in the vSphere web client even with log out/log in. We can use below steps to check the root cause:
- Check whether the extension has been installed correctly
Browse https://<VC>/mob/?moid=ExtensionManager to check whether extensionList["com.vmware.openstack.ui"] is there or not. If this extension is there, then double check the url field https://<VC>/mob/?moid=ExtensionManager&doPath=extensionList%5b%22com%2evmware%2eopenstack%2eui%22%5d%2eclient as below:
If above URL is accessible in the VM which hosting the vSphere web client service, then it means that the installation is successful.
- Check the vSphere web client service logs VMware KB: Location of vSphere Web Client service logs
Sometimes, the plugin cannot be installed correctly for some reasons, here are some common issues:
- OutOfMemory issue, in this case, we can fix it by increase the heap size of the server VMware KB: Configuring Tomcat server settings in VMware vCenter Server 5.1 and 5.5
