VIO UI plugin doesn't show up in the vSphere web client

After deployed VIO OVA, and the vApp powered on, the VIO UI plugin may not show up in the vSphere web client even with log out/log in. We can use below steps to check the root cause:

  • Check whether the extension has been installed correctly

Browse https://<VC>/mob/?moid=ExtensionManager to check whether extensionList["com.vmware.openstack.ui"] is there or not. If this extension is there,  then double check the url field https://<VC>/mob/?moid=ExtensionManager&doPath=extensionList%5b%22com%2evmware%2eopenstack%2eui%22%5d%2eclient as below:

If above URL is accessible in the VM which hosting the vSphere web client service, then it means that the installation is successful.

Sometimes, the plugin cannot be installed correctly for some reasons, here are some common issues:

running into the same problem, i have verified that the plugin .zip file is accessible but the OpenStack icon does not show in the Inventory as expected.

Does anyone of any other thought on this issue?

Could you please upload the vsphere-client logs?
