VIO Licence

Hi,

A quick question about purchasing a VIO 7 licence as I am finding it extremely difficult to purchase one.

Also I note that VMware have changed VIO from Datacenter Edition to Carrier Edition. We have an eval licence now but do not want or need the carrier edition so if I could be pointed in the right direction this would be great.

Additionally, what restrictions are placed on the VIO licence such as CPU, controllers ect.

Many Thanks.

I managed to get a quote from a provider ( $2800 per CPU ).

Any idea how VIO assigns CPUs as we are currently using 2 but I am unsure how it calculates these.

If anyone else has trouble getting a licence I found these in Australia.

They were ok and they provided a quote very quickly.

Hi, nothing has changed so far as I know, you can still choose between Data Center Edition or Carrier Edition. You can contact reseller of vmware product in your country.

VMware Integrated OpenStack is available standalone. Licensing is on a per-CPU basis. total CPU is based on payload cluster managed by VIO. And no limitation for how many controllers you have based on the license, keep it 3 controllers at first and lets see how it goes.
