Not Seeing the Router option in Networks in the Horizon UI

I deployed the OpenStack cluster successfully. I am not seeing the router option. Did I miss something?

Hi yashmeet,

Have you deployed the vDS version by any chance? virtual routers are only available in NSX-based version of VIO deployment.

Best Regards,

Hi Karol,

Thanks for the clarification. How would I connect to the external network then? Don't I need a router to connect to the external network?

Regards,

Yashmeet

You can create a provider network (based on your existing VLANs), and use it for your instances. If you want to have private networks routed to some external networks, you need router - that's why NSX is needed, because it provides router VMs (NSX edge), that can be utilized by openstack for those purposes.
