How to deploy duplicate instances in separate data centers at the same time?

Is there a function in VIO that allows the deployment of duplicate instances in separate data centers at the same time, in the same workflow?  Separate data centers would then likely be separate regions or availability zones.

Mike,

Are you looking for a centralized API endpoint or single Horizon interface? VIO doesn't currently support OpenStack regions but does support AZs, however AZs aren't going to get you what you want in this case unless you use a single vCenter instance and NSX instance that manages both datacenters.

Hi Mike,

what do you mean by duplilcate? you want to use them as a highly available application using a load balancer in front of them?

Thanks!

Hello,

I'd like to be able to deploy an instance that is identically configured (except hostname and IP) at two data centers at once, ignoring any applications on those instances and load-balancing.  This would be in VDS-only mode and not using NSX.

Thanks

Thanks.  The instance deployment process could be via the openstack CLI or Horizon as long as it does what we want. This is also a VDS-only deployment, so NSX is not used.  So assume we could manage both data centers with the same vCenter. Can we then deploy two identically configured instances (with different hostnames and IPs), ignoring applications or app load-balancing?  This could be very simple.  I'd like to avoid having to run through the instance deployment process twice just to get an instance in separate data centers.
