One Week to vSphere ICM and O&S 6.7 Retirement

To IT Academy Institutions,

The end of one good thing will bring even better opportunities for students.
Updating content and certifications around the latest version of vSphere prepares students for the real world as more businesses onboard vSphere 7.
Plus, you can enroll in our “VMware vSphere: What's New v6.7 to v7.0" course to help prepare you for the transition.

Why retire this content?

While we know it can be inconvenient to update curricula and familiarize yourself with the latest versions of the software, it is essential for your students to build skills that are aligned with the certifications and latest software that VMware offers commercially. Keeping students’ knowledge current with the latest versions helps them succeed in the job market and feel confident in their roles.

Please reach out to us with any questions. We’re here to support our academic program members to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Hello,

Regarding the content and labs available for 6.7, will they be completely removed from the D2L Brightspace?

In case of already bought subscriptions, will we be able to enroll students in 6.7 or there will only be 7.0 on the D2L brightspace?

These questions are because the D2L youtube videos still show availability of 6.7 courses

Regards

Hello SanketDesai,

Thank you for your participation in our academic program and for raising the question.

On the 1st of August we will remove all English course content based on vSphere version 6.7 from our portals, including D2L.

The reason is that the vSphere 6.7 courses will no longer prepare for a certification exam, as the exams based on vSphere 6.7 will retire as well.

Students that have been assigned the vSphere 6.7 ICM or O&S course can be reassigned to vSphere 7 course materials.

The NDG 6.7 labs will remain available for a while longer, allowing students to complete their 6 months lab access.

Hope this helps to answer your questions,

Vincent
