where did the installation take place

Hi - ready for dumb question of the week?

I installed VM-ware Fusion on an Imac with 260 Go standard internal HDD with about 90 Go free + an external HDD with some 400 Go free.

W-XP runs very nicely though I haven't added any apps yet.

Where does VW-F install the Windows stuff - none of my HDDs seems to have decreased in available space?

I know it must be there somewhere or else it wouldn't run. Maybe Imacs / Os-X 10.5.2 doesn't see Fat 32 partitions?

before installing any apps. I'd like to know how much HDD space I have left on the particular ( installation ) drive.

Thanks ( blush )

I think THAT was it! Smiley Happy

Actually I think it can, but in this case VM uses VMDK it doesn't SEE the FAT partition.. and besides XP uses NTFS (unless you specially told it otherwise). You are looking for vmdk files, have you tried searching for them?

If you don't see an increase in space you must have thin provisioned the VM
