vmware-vmx cpu %

I am not really complaining here, just trying to understand what is happening.

I am running Fusion Player 12.1.0 on Big Sur and I am using a VM running my favorite Linux distribution, Suse Leap. I have disabled any 3D acceleration for the VM cause it seems this is causing unnecessary cpu overhead. What I can see in the "top" output on Mac OS is this:

So, basically you can see vmware-vmx is using constantly 20-25% CPU but inside the VM I can see this:

which shows that I have just the kwin_x11 process using about 1-2% of the CPU and a few other processes using 0.x% CPU.

Why do I have this difference? I am pretty sure if I add the %CPU of all my running processes inside the VM it will not add up to 20% CPU.

Any ideas?

It's likely just my OCD trying to optimise at maximum my VM in order to preserve battery life while I am mobile.
