So can we download anything that works with 11.04?
Right now the 8.4.5-3332101.tar.gz results in compilation errors
with the 2.6.38-8 kernel
3.1.2 is looking a bit long in the tooth.
It seems that it is even easier to install VMWare Tools with 11.04. Go to the "Additional Drivers" control panel and VMWare Tools/VMCI will be listed there. Install it from there. So far it has been working fine but I've only had limited time with it.

Participate in a VMware Fusion Beta as Ubuntu 11.04 and VMware Tools work there. ![]()
Note: Scroll down a bit from the top of the linked page for the form to join.
Do you only see this in VMWare Fusion Beta? I don't have any additional drivers in my 3.1.2 setup here.
What I mean is that it didn't show anything in the panel. It was empty in my 11.04 with 3.1.2
Then I guess it's a mute issue and I cannot comment on the beta as we are under a NDA at the present time. (Which is why I cropped the screen shot to not so the Fusion UI.)
I am running Fusion 2.1.3. Here is how I installed Natty:
1) Created a new VM by pointing to an image file
2) Left all VM settings as standard
3) Fusion prompted me to download Ubuntu Tools (which I thought was odd since I had already downloaded them before)
4) When Ubuntu started up, the Additional Driver icon was displayed in the menu bar
5) I selected the icon and installed VMWare Tools from there

Do you mean VMware Fusion 3.1.2 as there is no version 2.1.3 of VMware Fusion. ![]()
Yes, sorry. I meant Fusion 3.1.2.
I was busy celebrating El General's glorious victory last night ![]()
