vmware-authd.exe Using Lots of CPU

Hi,

I'm hoping someone may have an idea what's going on and how to resolve my CPU usage on the guest OS (which, of course, impacts the host OS too).

After booting up, my Vista 64-bit Ultimate system keeps showing high CPU usage between VMwareService.exe and vmware-authd.exe (kicks up to 100% every few seconds).

This has my guest OS constantly using up CPU cycles and slowing down the host OS.

Any suggestions on where to look?

Try to modify registry, find :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WINDOWS

NT\CURRENTVERSION\PERFLIB\Disable Performance Counters

add the registry key as a DWord and set it to 1
