viewing powerpoint files from Windows on digital projector

I am a new user of VMware fusion. I installed it on my Macbook Pro. I am able to launch Windows XP professional fine but when I connect a digital projector to the Macbook, I am unable to view Powerpoint files which reside on Windows.

When you connect the projector, is it an additional monitor or set to mirror the primary display? If it's an additional monitor, I'd suggest while in single-window mode, dragging the console window over to the secondary display and then going full screen. This should allow you to show Powerpoint on the projector.
