upgrade to 5.0.2 freezes my computer once I have to restart

Once the downloads stop during software update and I get to this screen

I click on install and relaunch in the box aboce and my 2012 macbook air freezes everytime.

Try to reinstall fusion manually.

First and foremost, uninstall existing version of fusion 5 as described in

Manually uninstalling VMware Fusion  

Then download and install latest build as described in below article

Uninstalling/reinstalling VMware Fusion does not remove your Virtual Machines!
