unable to resume "Could not open /dev/vmmon: Broken pipe

I am running VMware Fusion 11.5.5 on a Macbook Pro (Early 2015)  running Big Sur 11.3

I get the following when attempting to resume: Could not open /dev/vmmon: Broken pipe.

Followed by: Transport (VMDB) error -14: Pipe connection has been broken

help!

Fusion 11 doesn’t work on Big Sur, you’ll need to upgrade to Fusion 12.
