special characters in a Fusion VM on a MacBook Pro with swiss french keyboard

Hi,

I have copied a VM created on a PC running Workstation 6.0.2 (build 59824) to a MacBook Pro running Fusion 1.1 (build 62573). The host is running 10.5.1 while the guest runs Windows XP Pro SP2.

Function keys and FnCtrlAltBackspace work without problem but I cannot get characters like \,|,{,},[ and ]. In a Mac application, I can use for instance shiftalt+7 to get "\" but this will not give any result in Windows.

The Mac keyboard is a swiss french and the guest keyboard is configured as standard 101/102 with swiss french as layout too.

Does anyone have a fix or workaround for that ?

Thanks in advance,

Marc

CTRLALTKey will give me the special characters in the Windows VM, that correspond to a PC 101 swiss french keyboard (e.g. CTRLALT2 gives @).

Does anybody know why the Mac and PC layout differ from each other ? How can I configure the VM to use the Mac layout ?

CHAR MAC PC

@ ALTG CTRLALT+2

\ ALTSHIFT7 CTRLALT<

etc.

I've just created an Apple Keyboard Swiss French layout for windows !

Now characters such as '{' & '}' are displayed with '8' & '9' keys while pressing alt (option) instead of 'à' & '$'

I've created the AZERTY Apple keyboard layout that you may fetch on :
