screen resolution

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro 15 ”2018, with OSX Mojave 10.14.2 and I use VMware F Usion 8.5.6 with a guest Windows 7.

I also have 3 DELL s2817q monitors connected with Thunderbolt3 to HDMI adapters. The maximum resolution that I get in the guest is 2880x1800. On all monitors, including that of the MBP.

I would like to have the resolution on all monitors the 3840x2160, but every time I configure a monitor at that resolution, the virtual machine hangs or cannot draw the screen.

Could someone please tell me what I have to do to get the screen resolution I want?

Thank you!!!

Roberto

Hi,

Make sure that the virtual hardware is set to the latest.

So in VMware settings -> Compatibility and set it to hardware version 11 or 12.

Back in VMware settings -> Display, make sure that "Accelerate 3D Graphics" is checked and then adjust the amount of shared graphics RAM to the max, which IIRC is 2048 MB.

Then try again.
