pound sign not working in xp

Hi

I am using Fusion v2.0.2 on Mac Pro OSX 10.5.7. When I'm in the vm, and using any Windows office app, I cannot use the Pound sign, instead I get the hash symbol. Can someone help? Thanks.

Just to confirm, you mean the pound sterling sign (£), right?

I don't know what would cause that (other than maybe using a different keyboard layout on the guest and host), but the confirmation may help people who have seen this before find it.

yes, I meant £ sign, as in sterling. It's not happening on all the Macs, just a few..... any help greatly appreciated.

Have you checked your settings in "Regional and Language Options"?

Did you manage to get this problem sorted out as I have the same problem not able to get the £ sign working within VM ware (but it's fine on the mac side)

I have experienced the same problem setting up vmplayer installs of windows xp on a windows 7 host. I found that removing all traces of United States keyboard settings from Regional and Language Options / Languages / installed services list allows use of the pound sign. If you select United Kingdom as default and leave the United States in there, the problem still happens and you won't be able to use a pound sign.

Hope that Helps Smiley Happy
