possible to reimport .vdi file

I needed to reimage my laptop so I went ahead and backed up what I thought was the only file needed for my Windows 10 VM (a single .vdi file).

Now what I have re-installed my MAC OS and fusion, when I go to import the file, it is not recognized.

Am I missing something >?

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

A quick google tells me that a .vdi file is a virtualbox file.

It is not a VMware Fusion file, so you might have backed up the wrong virtual machine I'm afraid.
