Fusion 3.x was working fine for me until I accepted some Ubuntu updates (I think that was when it broke). At some point, all the shared drives from /mnt/hgfs went missing.
I can not get them back. I have tried:
- reinstalling vmtools
- using the open-source open-vmtools
- disable/enabling file-sharing with VM reboots in-between
- upgrading to version Fusion 4.x
None of these have helped.
My Ubuntu version is:
10.10
Kernel version:
2.6.35-31-generic
I've seen a lot of solutions to this general problem, but haven't found one that works for me, or seen the idea that give me insight into how to debug it.
