question:

the macbook-pro has a optical output connector digital optical output SPDIF for the audio.

will a windows xp audio player such as mediamonmey running in a virtual xp machine have access to 5.1 sound?

I suspect not, but I don't know for sure what our virtual hardware supports. The easiest way would be to try it and report back
