I received it 30 minutes ago but when installing I get the message "The license key you provided is not valid"
You're using the key you got from here:
https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/evalcenter?p=fusion-player-personal
And you're pasting it accurately into Fusion 12, and it's still not working?
If that's the case, can you email me and include the key?

Mikero I’m not able to get any license key for Fusion player. The website that opens when I click on “Get Personal License” when Fusion starts requires me to sign up for a trial license. When I open your link above and try to registers there, the registration form always fails with “Something went wrong. Please try again later.”
Any idea how to get a license key for personal use?
Thanks!
Try using the website with a clean browser - no adblock/privacy plugins. There's tracking code that seems to be breaking when it's disabled.
Tthanks dlhotka
But it still doesn’t work. Tried vanilla Safari 14 under Catalina, Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer. All show the same behaviour.
In addition, I recognised that the link that gets opened when clicking on „Get a free license key“ in the first run wizard of Fusion 12 is
https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/evalcenter?p=workspace-one-hol-uem-20
which is different from the link Mikero mentions above. And that explains why at first I was asked to register for a trial license instead of the free personal license.
To me this looks like no one ever tested the registration process. :smileyangry:
What country are you located in?
There are some redirects doing unexpected things due to globalization/internationalization.
currently I’m located in Germany. If there is any way to circumvent these redirects, please let me know.
Mmaybe to add: both Fusion and the registration website run in English.
I don't use Fusion myself, but as far as I know there's never been a German localization for it.
Anyway, I "played" around with the VMware web page changing the country setting, and was able to reproduce incorrect redirects with the "/de/" page.
What seem to work, is to open the "/en/" localized page directly, i.e. https://my.vmware.com/en/web/vmware/evalcenter?p=fusion-player-personal

Thanks, a.p.
The localisation itself is not an issue. But the registration page keeps blocking. Even with the EN-site, I always end up having to fill out this registration form:
https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/registration?source=dwnp&p=fusion-player-personal&loggedin=true
As soon as I click on 'Sign up" I get a "something went wrong" error and cannot proceed regardless which browser I use. Right now I even had to clean the browser cache as opening this thread failed with "NGINX cookie or header to long"-error.
This is really frustrating...
Try with incognito.
I'm currently in a discussion with IT around why we need 36 ad trackers on that page (which is basically what's breaking things, particularly when combined with the global redirecting).
I opened a support ticket and got a license key now. But I cannot tell, if they did the registration manually or the web site issues are resolved.
Anyway, thanks for your help!
I'm trying to get alicens key too, but Iget only test license or have to pay!
*moderator: removed personal email address... this is not a good idea to post on the public internet 😉
This is still an issue... Seriously. Get your crap together. I'm switching to Parallels.
