installing esxi

i am trying to insatll esxi iso in vmware fusion 13.0.2 (M1 mac mini).  I dragged and pasted the iso file and selected and when there is a option to select a operating system, there is no VMware esx option to select. i only see microsoft Windows 11, different versions of linux and other option. kindly someone help.

First off, are you using the ESXi image for the ARM-fling, or the usual ESXi image?  The latter will definitely NOT work on an Apple silicon based Mac which you have.

Second, pretty sure I remember reading from someone on here that even the ARM-fling version won't work on the Apple silicon systems due to lack of some sort of hardware support.

1) There is no nested virtualization available on M1 - regardless of anything else, that won't work.

2) Fusion definitely doesn't support it as a guest.
