I copied a VM from vSphere 4.1 and tried to import it into Fusion.
No luck.
Can this be done?
How would I go about it?
(Is Fusion the Mac version of Workstation??)
VMs are note directly transferable between vSphere and Fusion - You will first have to export it from vSphere as an OVF and then import it into Fusion -

Thank you!
I gues you could also use Vcenter converter for this .
Please refer this Link http://www.vmware.com/products/converter/
Vcenter converter helps physical to virtual machine conversions as well as conversions between virtual machine formats with VMware vCenter Converter, also Convert Microsoft Windows and Linux-based physical machines and third-party image formats to VMware virtual machines.
Yah, you could use Converter but now that Fusion supports OVF format natively, that's a whole lot of work for no real benefit.
Just export as OVF from vSphere, copy to your Mac, File > Import > and you're done
export as OVF from vSphere, copy to your Mac, File > Import > and done
Super ! Good to Know .
Very helpful!
