iMac does not stay in sleep mode in iMac Ventura 13.1 and VM Fusion 12.2.5

I am using VM Fusion 12.2.5. I manually put the Mac in sleep mode and it restores (comes on) after about 10 - 15 seconds.

I'm working with Apple engineering via AppleCare and they are not sure if VM Fusion is causing this.

Any thoughts if VM F is causing this issue?

Thanks,

Bruce

It takes quite some time for Fusion to suspend the virtual machine and dump the memory file to disk (especially if you have a hard drive versus SSD).  Try suspending the guest manually, let that complete, and then sleeping the host.

FWIW, there's little reason to sleep a host these days - modern machines, with the screen blanked, use very little power.
