how to locate a new vm on a different hard drive

VMware Fusion 3.1.1 (282344) Mac OS 10.6.4.

I have a few vms on my boot drive and am running out of space. I want to create a new Win 7 vm on a different hard drive but cannot seem to find how to tell VMware to put it there. I know I could create it in the normal location on my boot drive and move it, but I don't have the GB's on the boot drive for that.

How do I create the new vm on the new drive?

Thx for any tips,

Ken

As you walk through the New Virtual Machine Assistant and you get to the Finish sheet you have two choices...

One is to select the Customize Settings button and the other is to just click the Finish button. Either choice brings up the Save As: dialog box and you can pick whatever location you want. Note that you may have to click the down arrow button that is to the right of the Save As: text box in order to expand that sheet to see all options. BTW Clicking that button is standard OS X behavior and has nothing to do with VMware Fusion per se.

Thx!

I guess I would have liked to see the location choice somehow sooner in the process.

I don't do vm creation often enough to remember from time to time.
