freebsd 7.1 instalation problem under VMware fusion

I try to install freebsd 7.1 under vmware fusion on macpro mac os x 10.5.6. First I've used an iso image, but after installation vmware relaunched freebsd from it again. Then I've burned a physical CD, installed Freebsd, ejected CD before restarting Freebsd, and vmware either a)crashed b)found no operating system on freshly created 'virtual machine'!

I've used defaults, I also tried to increase memory to 1GB. Freebsd has been installed with minimal configuration.

Please advise.

Here are some notes (attached) I made to myself while installing FreeBSD. They're not edited, and I have no idea if they'll help. FreeBSD runs alight, just don't know what to do with it is all.
