feature request - filename of VM ?

Hi...

I have several similarly-named VMs. They might be things like "XP_Pro_IE6" and "XP_Pro_IE7", for example. The title bar for both reads "Windows XP Professional". I may have started one of them up a couple of days ago by clicking on the ".vmwarevm" package, so the gui for selection is not available to show a selected filename.

I'd like to have a simple and obvious way to check on which of my VMs I'm running in a given window. Especially if I've run several different but similar VMs over the last few days, keep some open all the time, etc.

Additionally and perhaps relatedly, it might be convenient, since more than one Guest OS can be running, to have the "Virtual Machine / Shut Down Guest" menuitem identify which Guest is intended (I realize that it's the frontmost window).

Have I overlooked an obvious and reliable way to tell?

Thanks for an excellent-and-getting-better product.

Tom

You can edit the vmx file (inside the vmwarevm bundle) and change the line about displayName. This will change what's displayed in the title bar.
