cannot get into Target Mode in Mac 10.10

Hi,

I'm running OS X 10.10 and 10.9 as virtual machines in Fusion. When I try to get into Target Mode in System Preference -> Startup Disk, there is no Target Mode option listed. And I cannot get into T-mode by holding T key at boot up.

Any ideas?

thank you!

Hi ITMan01,

Target Disk Mode is a feature provided by Apple's system firmware, and is not part of OS X.  We do not currently implement that feature in our virtual machine's firmware, so Target Disk Mode is not available within a VMware virtual machine.

Thanks,
