after latest update, unable to run VM

Morning,
I updated to most recent version VMWare Fusion Pro on my Intel Mac and now it will not run the VM I have as saying files missing. I browse and and select the file it is requesting but it still gives me the same error. I will attach what I am seeing.

macOS x 12.5 fully updated

VMWare Fusion Professional Version 12.2.4 (200710910

Next time please execute a Terminal session and use an ‘ls -al’ command to list the contents of the virtual machine directory into a file, and then attach that file. It’s easier, faster, and gives us a more complete view of what’s in the VM than having to paste together multiple screen shots.

"Virtual Disk-000002-s011.vmdk" is missing. Please check whether you can find this file in e.g. quarantine or a lost&found folder.
If you cannot find that file, it is possible to create a replacement/stub file, which will allow you to access the virtual disk again, but all data that was stored in this file (likely ~4GB) is lost!To be able to create such a stub file, please attach "Virtual Disk-000002.vmdk" to your next reply.

No luck on finding Virtual Disk-000002-s011.vmdk I ran this VMWare Fusion a few days ago without issue, this only presented after I updated VMWare Fusion Pro. I'll attach the requested file. The attach is a zip as not allowed to send a vmdk.

In this case you can replace the missing file with a copy of "Virtual Disk-000002-s014.vmdk".

Once replaced, either backup the VM's folder/files, or at least take another virtual machine snapshot, so that the current .vmdk files don't get modified, and you have the option to revert to that snapshot if necessary.

I copied as you suggested. I immediately took a snapshot. I then started the VM and got "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete". Thats the current status. When it does come up, will do another snapshot and provide an update here.

If the guest OS cannot be repaired, but you want/need to recover data, you could try to add the virtual disk (the second snapshot) to a helper VM, and try to extract data from it.

If you don't care much about the data, you could revert to the first (still healthy) snapshot from Sept. 27th to avoid having to rebuild the whole VM.
