Windows guest applications started from a share do not seem to shared as applications to the host. Is there a way around this I am missing or is it a bug/issue in Fusion?
For example, my host is OSX and my guest is Windows XP.
If place an executable like infoqube.exe in C:\ then run it the applications is listed as infoqube in the host's dock. Also an infoqube entry is listed in the host's vmWare Applications Menu.
However, if I copy infoqube.exe to \\vmware-host\Shared Folders\Desktop and run it (from there or though the drive mapping at Z:\Desktop) then I see vmware-docker in the host's dock and no entry is added to the host's vmWare Applications Menu.
I'm looking for this second case to also properly display in the doc and menubar.
