Did you by any chance do a restore of your VM or reverted back to a previous snapshot? If you did, the password for your computer account might not be in synch anymore with your DC. If this is the case then see if you can disjoin and then rejoin the domain, please note that you will need to have the required privilidges on the domain to do this.

Can you log in to a local Windows account (Administrator)? If so, can you open a command prompt and then try pinging out?

Try:

ping

what are the results?

I was able to ping the domain computer and outside web sites as well. Our domain controller is 2500 miles away at corporate. We go through a hardware VPN but no windows machines in our office is having any problems.

I also did an IP config and my address is different on the windows VM than it is on my mac.

Hello kjchipmunk,

Did you ping the domain controller by name or IP? Try pinging it by name. If it does not respond to name and it does respond to IP, you are having trouble with DNS resolution. Contact your IT support to get that resolved.

Also, the IP for the VM will be different from the IP on the MAC. This is normal. The VM gets its own IP address.

You mention a VPN. Do you have a vpn connection or client in the Windows VM that you need to run? Is it running and connected to your corporate vpn?

Don't forget to use the buttons on the side to award points if you found this useful (you'll get points too).

I can ping the domain controller by name. I mentioned the VM having a different IP address because some of the other posts said they needed to be different so I wanted to avoid people asking me if they were different.

The VPN is a hardware box and there is no software on my part to run. The VPN is working fine because my mac and other computers have no issues.

Any other suggestions?

I did do a restore a few weeks ago. I've tried both the original password and my new one. How would I go about disjoining the domain then rejoining it?
