Windows XP Video Playback Problem

Hello!

I am using Vmware Fusion 51348 on 1.8 gHz Intel Mac Mini with Windows XP SP2 virtual machine.

I have Windows Media Player 11 installed and the system is kept up to date with all Windows Update hot-fixes applied. I have Vmware tools installed of course.

When i try to play any video file with WMP 11, the playback speed is constant with no frame drops, and the video looks fine, as long as i don't resize the player window. In full-screen, or with the player window resized, all videos look very pixelated and blocky, as if video smoothing is being disabled.

I tried disabling Hardware Mixing option in WMP, but the problem remains. Plus, with Hardware Mixing disabled, videos are being displayed upside-down in fullscreen for some reason. Turning hardware acceleration on and off in Vmware and adjusting video hardware acceleration slider in Windows also didn't do the trick.

I don't have any codec-packs installed in Guest OS. No third-party codecs, except for standard official DivX installation.

This is a minor problem, but i wonder what might be causing it?
