Windows 10 VM hard-crashes when I try to pause it

I recently updated to MacOS Big Sur 11.4, though I had this same issue on 11.3.

Running VMware Fusion Professional 12.1.2.

This was fine before the MacOS update to 11.3; I've since checked System Preferences to try to see if there was some permissions it was missing, but I'm not seeing anything it doesn't have in the Security & Privacy section.

Any time I have the Windows 10 VM running and try to Pause it or close the VM winder (which normally pauses it), the VM instantly hard stops, as though I'd selected Power Off, and VMware reports an error: Transport (VMDB) error -14: Pipe connection has been broken.

Anyone got any idea what I can try to sort it out? I've so far not lost any data from this, everything seems to be safe enough when it powers itself off, but it is a bit worrying and more than a bit frustrating.

The vmware log is here: https://pastebin.com/0DJ5iHMN

Any ideas would be appreciated!
